Japeth Aguilar of Barangay Ginebra added a feather to his cap by reaching a total of 1,000 offensive rebounds in PBA history, making him the latest player to achieve such a feat.

The 35-year-old Aguilar marked his new career milestone during the Kings’ game against the NLEX Road Warriors.

Barangay Ginebra center Japeth Aguilar receives a special plaque for reaching a total of 1,000 offensive rebounds, a milestone in his professional career.

He hit three of his total eight rebounds on the offensive boards to reach the rare accomplishment that made him the fifth Ginebra player to earn the distinction in franchise history.

But Ginebra bowed to NLEX, 117-120, in overtime last week.

Japeth Aguilar ceremony

PBA feted Aguilar in a fitting ceremony during halftime of Ginebra’s 122-105 triumph over NorthPort Batang Pier at the Philsports Arena Sunday evening, November 27.

PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial awarded the seasoned center the creatively-designed plaque with Ginebra governor and San Miguel Corporation (SMC) sports director Alfrancis Chua and NorthPort governor Eric Arejola in attendance.

However, Aguilar did not record any offensive rebound during the Ginebra-NorthPort game where he contributed seven points.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay became the latest to join the elite 1,000 offensive rebound club and the eighth player still active after Calvin Abueva, Kelly Williams, June Mar Fajardo, Reynel Hugnatan, Arwind Santos, Rafi Reavis, and Asi Taulava.
