Rain or Shine showcased their dominance on the court as they rebounded from a previous loss to Barangay Ginebra by routing Converge with a resounding 127-110 win in the PBA On Tour at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City Friday, June 30.

The Elasto Painters displayed an impressive offensive performance, with six players scoring in double figures and three others nearly reaching the same mark. Anton Asistio led the charge with 20 points, highlighted by his five three-pointers.

Shaun Ildefonso contributed 19 points, while Rey Nambatac made an impactful return to the court after signing a new three-year contract with Rain or Shine, tallying 17 points.

Rain or Shine’s victory marked their fifth win in six games, signifying their strong campaign in the exhibition series. The team bounced back convincingly after their previous heartbreak against Ginebra, where they squandered a six-point lead in the final minutes, resulting in a narrow 108-107 defeat.

In addition to the stellar performances from Asistio, Ildefonso, and Nambatac, several other players stepped up for Rain or Shine.

Gian Mamuyac, Santi Santillan, Nick Demusis, and Andrei Caracut all made significant contributions, collectively strengthening the team’s performance and extending their lead to a staggering 31 points at its peak.

Converge, on the other hand, had their winning streak halted as they dropped to a 3-4 record. Despite the loss, Justine Arana delivered an outstanding double-double performance with 25 points and 18 rebounds. Adrian Wong provided support with 20 points, showcasing his scoring ability from beyond the arc. Mike Nieto also contributed 19 points for the FiberXers.

Throughout the game, Rain or Shine’s dominance was evident as they consistently outperformed Converge on both ends of the court. The Elasto Painters’ offensive prowess was on full display, while their defensive efforts limited Converge’s opportunities to mount a comeback.

As Rain or Shine continues to showcase their winning form, they establish themselves as a formidable force in the exhibition series. Coach Yeng Guiao’s team redeemed themselves from their previous defeat and now aims to maintain their winning momentum as they strive for success in the upcoming season.

With their balanced scoring attack, solid defense, and resilient mindset, Rain or Shine sends a strong message to their competitors, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with in the PBA.
