Robert Bolick led the NLEX Road Warriors to a commanding 115-93 victory over Converge at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Saturday night, March 9,  further solidifying his status as the league’s scoring leader.

Bolick, back in the PBA after a brief stint in the Japan B. League, has been a force to be reckoned with in Season 48 of the Philippine Cup. With a remarkable 3-1 win-loss start, NLEX finds itself among the early front-runners in the league, thanks in no small part to Bolick’s exceptional performances.

In the latest showdown against Converge, Bolick erupted for a career-high 46 points, showcasing his scoring prowess and leading the Road Warriors to an emphatic victory. His scoring spree included 17-of-26 from the field and 5-of-12 from beyond the arc. Bolick’s stellar performance marked a league season high for a local player, an all-time franchise best for a local, and the most points scored by any local player since Stanley Pringle’s 50 in the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup.

Not only did Bolick shine as a scorer, but he also contributed eight assists and five rebounds, highlighting his all-around impact on the game.

The Road Warriors’ victory was a collective effort, with Rob Herndon, Jan Nermal, and Baser Amer providing double-digit outputs. Herndon, in particular, made his mark with 17 points, including five three-pointers, along with five rebounds and three assists. Nermal continued to impress with 13 markers, while Amer added 10 points, three assists, and three rebounds.

NLEX overcame a sluggish start, with Converge taking the opening quarter at 28-24. However, the Road Warriors seized control, outscoring the FiberXers 30-24 in the second quarter, 30-19 in the third, and 31-22 in the fourth, ultimately securing a convincing 22-point victory.

The win marked NLEX’s second straight triumph after earlier victories against NorthPort (107-100) and Meralco (99-96). Their lone loss came in a closely contested battle against Terrafirma, where they fell short at 99-95.

On the flip side, Converge’s struggles continue as they fall to 0-4 in the tournament and maintain a challenging 1-14 record for the season. As the PBA Season 48 unfolds, Bolick and the NLEX Road Warriors remain a formidable force, poised for more exciting clashes in their pursuit of championship glory.
