Robert Bolick led the NLEX Road Warriors to a thrilling 103-97 victory over the formidable Blackwater Bossing, halting their opponent’s impressive win streak in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Bolick, known for his scoring prowess, showcased his versatility by orchestrating a near-triple-double performance while delivering crucial shots down the stretch.

The PhilSports Arena witnessed a fiercely contested battle as both teams fought tooth and nail for supremacy on the court. Unlike in their previous outings where Bolick shouldered much of the scoring load, this time around, he received ample support from his teammates, elevating NLEX’s performance to new heights.

Jhan Nermal, Dominic Fajardo, and Anthony Semerad emerged as unsung heroes, contributing vital points and making significant plays throughout the game. Fajardo, in particular, stepped up remarkably, registering a career-high 14 points while showcasing his versatility by playing power forward in NLEX’s small-ball strategy.

However, it was Bolick who stole the spotlight when it mattered most, sinking crucial triples in the dying moments of the game to seal the victory for the Road Warriors. His leadership on the court was evident as he not only excelled in scoring but also displayed excellent decision-making, dishing out assists, and orchestrating plays to perfection.

Assistant coach Borgie Hermida commended Bolick for his all-around performance, highlighting his ability to make crucial plays and involve his teammates effectively. Bolick, in turn, deflected praise to his fellow teammates, emphasizing the collective effort that propelled NLEX to victory.

With contributions coming from various players, including Richie Rodger, Baser Amer, and Semerad, NLEX showcased their depth and resilience as a team. Coach Jong Uichico’s leadership also played a pivotal role, stepping in admirably after head coach Frankie Lim’s absence due to injury.

On the opposing end, Rey Suerte led the charge for the Blackwater Bossing with an impressive 21-point outing. However, missed opportunities, particularly from the free-throw line, proved costly for Blackwater as they saw their unbeaten start to the conference abruptly halted.

Despite the setback, Blackwater remains determined to bounce back swiftly as they gear up for their upcoming matchup against Terrafirma. With valuable lessons learned from their first defeat, the Bossing remain a formidable force in the league, eager to reclaim their winning ways.

As the dust settles on this thrilling encounter, NLEX savors their hard-earned victory, propelled by Bolick’s heroics and a collective team effort that underscores their championship aspirations in the PBA Philippine Cup.
